We have only ordered delivery from here and safe to say we love the food. The portions are great; and fast delivery is always appreciated. The prices are a bit steep, but if you want to eat decent Sichuan cuisine once a while, it's worth it. The Young Chow fried rice is legit; shredded beef (sautéed or fried) is amazing! I'm quite sure other items on the menu as good as well, but I'm not in a position to rave about it since we haven't tried it all. Safe to say, Wa Jeal is a good bet to order good Sichuan once a while.

Got delivery so can't speak to the service or any other experiences inside the restaurant. Delivery was fast though. As far as the food… pretty good. I've definitely had better but it was good. Sauce on the Lo Mein could probably have used a bit more flavor… not sure if it needed more salt or what but something was missing. The vegetable spring rolls were phenomenal however. A bit pricey for what it is but overall a decent Chinese spot in the neighborhood.

I was so happy to see that Wa Jeal reopened for takeout! Best Chinese on the UES. Was so sad to see they shut down at the start of NYC "pause", but understood they wanted to keep everyone safe. Ordered agin tonight and it did not disappoint!! Thank you Wa Jeal!

I had a lunch special today, my first time here. I asked for low oil and extra spicy. I got exactly what I wanted with nice brown rice. Service was friendly and excellent. The portions were not chincy at all. I enthusiastically recommend this restaurant.

Wa Jeal is a must go for Sichuan cuisine. We order the general tso chicken, fish with chili peppers and chicken fried rice. The fish was amazing! The filet was fried but you could not tell. The garlic and peppers were a nice touch. The chicken was ok. It seemed over cooked. The fried rice was delicious. Wa jeal can be a little pricey but I am sure that is because of the location. Lastly i ordered a lychee martini cocktail which I would not recommend as i don't think it was made right. They get four stars because their service was really good.
