Found the place when I hit food on Google maps and gave it a try. I had the pork gyro platter and was very happy with it. The place is due to close for a few weeks for remodeling starting 8/15/19 and running until some time in September. I plan to revisit it then.

Greek woman approved! Honestly so delicious, the gyro tasted like I got it back home. Spanakopita was also delicious, it’s roll style so it’s portable. The filo has the perfect combo of flaky/crunchy. If you want something sweet try the bougatsa. I’m very impressed. Ordered delivery with seamless so I didn’t get to see the restaurant in person, but it’s super cute on the outside. Perfect Greek style street food.

Whaddapita is a welcome Greek fast food addition to the neighborhood. The place is moderately sized and clean, with relatively limited seating (maybe 16-18 people can sit comfortably). It seems more catered to the to-go crowd. Service is consistently efficient and friendly. Their chicken gyro is always good. They use a mustard aioli (gyro sauce, as they call it) which is more authentic to what they actually do in Greece. I’ve seen a few reviewers who critique that- one person said it was mayo- but again, this is how Greeks prepare specifically a chicken gyro. Beef and lamb gyros or pork gyros still usually have tzatziki, but not chicken gyros. The gyros also have fries in the pita- again, authentically Greek. The meat is consistently of good quality. I think only once did I have a piece of gristle or bone. All in all, it’s not the absolute best Greek gyro you’ll find, but it’s solidly tasty and recommended for this area for sure. I’ve also tried their spinach pie, which is in a spiral shape. It’s good, and likely a frozen kind that they heat up.

Interesting new addition to a rapidly changing few blocks of the neighborhood on Amsterdam Ave close to City college. Has the traditional Greek regulars of gyro and pita in addition to salads etc. I was surprised to see no lamb on the menu. I'm told it is being added :-).

My favorite gyro place. The staff is amazing & so nice. They have the best Greek yogurt I have ever had in my life! Highly recommend!
